What an awesome name for a ladder and fence shop. Another pic from Rob, whose website, it’s worth repeating, is worth a visit: cybertects.co.uk. This mythical land of Wallington is obviously a rich seam of 01 signage. Maybe one day I shall go there. Maybe.

Another carpet shop, just round the corner from the one a couple of posts below this one. The people of Ealing love their independent carpet retailers, no doubt. I must have passed Ealing Carpets a million times, but I had somehow overlooked its 01 until the other day. Lovely bold red-on-white text. Classic 01 action.

(Apologies for the sabbatical. My place of work have blocked Flickr and several other sites, making it awkward to post updates in my lunchbreak, damn them).

Once again, the good folk of urban75 come up with the goods. This particular beauty courtesy of plurker. And isn’t it reassuring to think that the good people of Streatham have been buying bespoke curtains from Roger/Mr Rogers/Mrs Rogers for at least the last 20 years. Long may they continue. All power to their sewing machines.

Think this is the first funeral directors we’ve had. Nice to know that if you need anything/one embalming in north London, the service is available.

The other day, for reasons I won’t bore you with, I went to Isleworth to buy 182 meters of red florist’s ribbon. Now, if you’re in Isleworth and need florist’s ribbon, Lavenders of London, on the Metro Centre estate, they’re your guys. So imagine my surprise and delight when I not only got 182 meters of red florist’s ribbon for a very reasonable price, but there was a blooming great 01 on the sign outside! Made my day, I can tell you.

I took the photo with the crappy camera on my phone. For some reason it came out with an unexpected, yet oddly appropriate, purple hue. Dunno why.

I’ve been away, hence the lack of updates – not many 01′s in Devon. But there are a lot of 01′s in Ealing. Which is handy, because that’s where I live. Above you can see the Northfields Carpet Centre, in all its grubby beige glory. I particularly like the “just dump it all in a big heap in the window” display, and the rogue greenery sprouting above the signage. Lovely.
